A Texas mother was shot and while visiting her son’s grave on his ‘first birthday in heaven,’ according to police and the woman’s ex-husband.
Yolanda N’Gaojia, 52, was fatally shot just after 5 pm on Tuesday at the Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Killeen, where she was visiting the grave of her son Amir on what would have been his 22nd birthday.
A second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, the Killeen Police Department said in a . Their identity has not been made public.

Their son Amir died on New Year’s Day earlier this year, according to an online obituary. He was one of three children that Yolanda and Kineh shared.
‘I have no words because I can’t believe this is real,’ Kineh wrote in a statement shared to Facebook. ‘This is the stuff you see [in] movies but it has become our life.’
‘I can’t believe you are gone Yolanda N’Gaojia,’ he wrote. ‘How y’all gonna kill her on her Son birthday at his gravesite???’
Kineh shared a photograph of Yolanda and Amir in a second post, writing, ‘My children will never be the same again.’
‘Those bullets took a precious gem from us but gave us an Amazing Angel to guide us so you know we ain’t going nowhere but up cause we know how hard you rode for your family. Thank you for making our lives complete we gonna miss you Solider. WE LOVE YOU,’ he added in one other post.
Killeen police have called the shooting an ‘isolated incident.’ They are investigating the shooting as a murder, and have not yet released the names of the second victim.
