Authorities said Wednesday they believe Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, flew from Austin, Texas to New York City days after fatally shooting Anna Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson. A warrant for Armstrong’s arrest was issued May 17.

Three days after Wilson was found shot dead inside a friend’s home, Armstrong left Austin, the US Marshals Service said in a .

She took a flight to Houston and then a second connecting flight to LaGuardia Airport in New York City, officials said.

On the night of the killing, Wilson was staying at a friend’s house in Austin, where she traveled to for an upcoming race.

Police said that both women had been romantically linked to professional cyclist Colin Strickland.

Armstrong had been in a relationship with Strickland, but during a break in their relationship, he dated Wilson, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by .

Armstrong had allegedly warned Wilson to stay away from Strickland, but the two had gone out for dinner the night Wilson was found dead.

Surveillance footage shows a car suspected to be Armstrong’s arrived at the home of Wilson’s friend minutes after Strickland dropped her off. When asked by authorities, Armstrong provided no explanation.

Strickland said in a statement to the that he had a brief relationship with Wilson in October, when he and Armstrong were not a couple. He said that since then they shared a platonic and professional relationship only, and considered Wilson a great friend.

He is not considered a suspect because security footage and other evidence shows he was elsewhere at the time of Wilson’s death.

The US Marshals Service has declared Armstrong a fugitive, with a warrant out for her arrest on murder charges.
