Messi put Argentina ahead from the penalty spot on eight minutes.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward added the second before the break.
The 34-year-old added three more goals in the second half.
It would be recalled that Messi was named man-of-the-match in Argentina’s Finalissima win against Italy in midweek.
Messi has now scored 86 goals in 162 appearances for La Albiceleste.
