Emmanuel Dennis was in action but could not prevent relegation threatened Watford going down to 2-1 home loss to Burnley, Completesports reports.

Watford have now lost their last five league games and remain in 19th place on 22 points and are 12 points from safety.

Dennis’ Nigerian teammates William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu were unused substitutes for the Hornets.

It was a game Watford would be kicking themselves after considering two late goals to surrender their lead.

Watford made a great start after taking the lead on eight minutes after Juraj Kucka’s shot hit the crossbar before cannoning off James Tarkowski and into the net.

In the 83rd minute Burnley equalised thanks to Charlie Taylor who finished off Jack Cork cross.

And with four minutes left Burnley completed the turnaround as Josh Brownhill slided the ball into the bottom corner.

For Burnley, it is a huge win as they give their relegation fight a boost, climbing up to 16th place.

At Saint Mary’s, Eberechi Eze was on target for Crystal Palace who came from a goal down to beat Southampton 2-1.

Southampton took the lead on nine minutes as Oriol Romeu rose highest to head in James Ward-Prowse’s corner.

On the hour mark, Palace equalised off the boot of Eze whose volley from Nathaniel Clyne’s deep cross squeezed under Fraser Forster.

And in the 92nd minute, Wilfried Zaha won it for Palace with a brilliant finish.

At Villa Park, Norwich were officially relegated to the Championship after they lost 2-0 to Aston Villa

It is a return back to the Championship after just gaining promotion this season.

Norwich were resolute in most part of the first half but their resolve was eventually broken when Olie Watkins scored on 41 minutes before Danny Ings made it 2-0 on 93rd minute.

And at the Molineaux Brighton and Hove Albion hammered Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0.
