Genk have set a June 1 deadline for Feyenoord to make a decision on Cyriel Dessers’ permanent transfer to the Eredivisie club.
Dessers linked up with Feyenoord on loan at the start of the season and has make a big impression at the club.
The Nigeria international has scored 15 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord despite playing most of the games as a substitute.
Genk sporting director Dmitri Conde stated that their Dutch counterpart must make their intention known on time or risk missing out on the striker.
“Whether we see Dessers in a Genk shirt next season depends on Feyenoord,” Conde was quoted by Voetbalkrant.
“They have until June 1 to put the option in the contract. If they don’t, then it is certainly an option to let Dessers make a new start here.
“I’ve always said that he will always and everywhere be good for 15 goals.”
