Arsenal are close to sealing their third signing of the summer as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad.
Goalkeeper Matt Turner has now arrived in London with his family to complete a long-awaited transfer to Arsenal this summer.
A deal worth around £7.5m for the 28-year-old was agreed back in January following a number of impressive displays for New England Revolution and the USMNT.
Turner is expected to replace Bernd Leno, who is set to leave following a lack of game time. It’s believed that Fulham are among a host of clubs interested in his services.
Reports suggested that Turner was due in the English capital this week and the player’s wife has confirmed just that by sharing a post on her Instagram story which shows both of them at the London Shard.
It’s not yet known whether or not Turner has undergone his medical and signed his Arsenal contract, but it appears to only be a matter of time until his transfer is confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Gunners continue their hunt for more signings and have now reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign Gabriel Jesus, according to various reports.
The fee involved is said to be in the region of £45m and football.london understands talks between the club and Jesus’ representatives have been ongoing for months, meaning personal terms should not be an issue.
