Riyad Mahrez witnessed Pep Guardiola’s temperament after his poor decision-making in front of goal rendered Manchester City’s Champions League tie against Real Madrid open. The Algerian winger had an opportunity to put City 3-0 up after a Kevin De Bruyne’s header and Gabriel Jesus’ strike had given the English side a great start against Los Blancos.
According to a report via Daily Star, Guardiola can be seen raging at Riyad Mahrez after he failed to make a pass to Phil Foden who was free inside the 18-yard-box but chose to shoot instead.
The Spanish manager got up from his technical area to give the Algerian winger a serious scolding after the incident.
The failure of Man City to end the tie was almost immediately punished by a Real Madrid goal as Mahrez was left to rue his error after Karim Benzema’s first-time volley 33 minutes in.
Real Madrid would fancy their chances of making another Champions League final after they earned a decent 4-3 loss and will try to upturn the result at the Santiago Bernabeu in the return fixture.
